
Atlanta (USA), 19-21 December 2025 - The Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain participated last week in the ICNA South East Conventionheld in the city of Atlanta, one of the most important Islamic meetings in the region.
The University was represented by the Professor Amina Rodríguezwho was part of the academic program of the event, reaffirming the presence of Al-Andalusia in international spaces of reflection and Islamic education.
During the convention, Prof. Amina gave a presentation entitled "An identity based on the Qur'an and Sunnah: Strengthening our Faith."In his speech, he gave an in-depth reflection on the construction of Muslim identity at both the individual and collective levels. In his speech, he addressed the importance of distinguishing between the essential features of the Islamic identity and the cultural elements, underlining especially the challenges and opportunities of the Spanish-speaking Muslim community in different contexts.
In the words of the teacher:
"Our identity as Muslims is not defined by where we live or by inherited customs, but by the values, principles and references emanating from the Qur'an and Sunnah, which unite us as a community."
Al-Andalusia's participation in this type of meeting reinforces its commitment to rigorous Islamic education, contextualized and open to dialogue, at the service of Muslim communities in different parts of the world.
