Our Studies

The Muslim community is heir to a vast and rich humanist tradition and, for centuries, was the standard bearer of knowledge and the champion of knowledge, with its recognized and magnificent contributions to the history of Islam in particular and universal history in general.

Given the needs of our community, we have a strong commitment to train people who have the capacity to provide a solid education based on this Islamic intellectual legacy, as well as on the knowledge of contemporary sciences.

For this reason, the Al-Andalusia Institute offers a plan of higher Islamic studies adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the Spanish university system. This plan is composed of three main cycles: Bachelor, Master and Doctorate.

Objectives

One of the main objectives of our curriculum is to encourage the active and equal participation of men and women in their respective communities, offering quality education and service to their members, and establishing institutions, entities and associations that work for the respect, coexistence and common good of our society and the environment, being aware of the Spanish-European context to which they belong.

After a long process of work and research, we have succeeded in designing the first Islamic higher education program in Spain, with an international scope, and especially designed for the Spanish-speaking Muslim community.

Acknowledgments

Islamic Studies in Spain do not belong to the structure and levels of the current Spanish educational system, but are governed independently, based on Constitutional Law, the Organic Law of Religious Freedom and the 92 Agreements between the State and the CIE. That is why our degrees are our own and, at the same time, recognized within the Spanish religious sphere.
