Diploma in Essential Islamic Studies (DEIE) - Essentials Course

QualificationAssistant Professor of Islamic Education and Religion - Musa'id al-Mu'allim fi al-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyyah.

The Essentials Course is a very comprehensive course, designed and accessible to all Muslims, in which students will learn subjects such as Arabic Language, Rules of Qur'an Recitation (Taywid), Qur'anic Exegesis (Tafsir), Islamic Law (Fiqh), Theology (Aqídah), Prophetic Tradition (Hadith), and Islamic Spirituality (Tazkiyah), and will be provided with key introductory teaching in the Ancillary Islamic Sciences (Ulúm al-Álah).

Upon successful completion of the course and its corresponding evaluation, the student will receive the Diploma in Essential Islamic Studies.

The only requirement to access the Diploma in Essential Islamic Studies is to be over 16 years of age.

The course can be completed in one or two years, depending on the time and effort the student can dedicate to the study. In the one-year mode, students study three days a week, with three classes per day. In the two-year course, students study two days a week.

Diploma in Islamic Education and Religion (DERI)

QualificationProfessor of Islamic Education and Religion - Mu'allim fi al-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyyah.

This two-year academic degree, after completing the Diploma in Essential Islamic Studies (a total of three years), is designed and structured to equip aspiring teachers of Islamic religion, primary, secondary, high school and Islamic centers and schools, with the necessary knowledge and skills required for such important work.

Future religion teachers will receive training based on classical Islamic texts, through which they will deepen the study of the Arabic Language, the Science of Qur'an Recitation (Taywíd), Exegesis (Tafsír) and Sciences of the Quran (Ulúm al-Qurán), Theology (Aqídah), Sciences of Hadíz (Ulúm al-Hadíz), Islamic Law (Fiqh) and its principles (Usúl al-Fiqh), Prophetic History (Sírah and Qasas al-Anbiyá) and Islamic Spirituality (Tazkiyah).

At the same time, they will receive training in the field of Pedagogy and Psychology, along with administrative knowledge and skills, which will be necessary for the management of their own Islamic centers, schools and academies.

To complete the training, external internships equivalent to 6 ECTS credits will be carried out.

This degree is acquired after completing the first two years of the Bachelor's Degree in Islamic Sciences and Theology.

Al-Qurtubia Teacher's Diploma (DPAQ)

Al-Qurtubia is the first methodology published in Spanish and Arabic for learning the correct reading and recitation of the Qur'an.

After years of experience with students of different ages and nationalities, Sh. Mohammad Idrissi decided to write this guide adapted to the needs of all students, taking into account their context and the difficulties they encountered in other methodologies.

Currently, Al-Qurtubia is the choice of Islamic educational centers throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Spain, United States, Panama, Colombia, Honduras, Chile, are some of the countries that have teachers who teach daily with Al-Qurtubia.

The goal of the DPAQ is to train qualified teachers to teach Arabic reading and writing from the beginning so that students automatically move on to reciting and memorizing the Qur'an correctly.

In addition, this diploma qualifies you to teach in Islamic schools and academies attached to the Spanish Islamic Educational System established by Al-Andalusia, at the levels of Islamic pre-school, primary and secondary education.

To enroll in the DPAQ, you need to be certified to have completed the Al-Qurtubia Course or pass a placement test, as the DPAQ is divided into two stages:

  • Al-Qurtubia Course.
  • Al-Qurtubia Teacher Diploma.

Quran Teacher Diploma

Becoming a Qur'an teacher is an honor and a privilege, and also a great responsibility, because depending on how we teach the Qur'an, we will make our students love it or turn away from it.

In this diploma you will learn the different methodologies that exist to teach the Qur'an, the tools you need to teach and the keys to keep the student interested.

To access this diploma it is necessary to have completed the Al-Qurtubia Teacher Diploma (DPAQ).

Diploma of Teacher of Arabic Language (DPLA)

The Arabic language is one of the most important languages in our world and history, and for Muslims, it is the language that connects us to the divine message of the Quran and Sunnah. Learning Arabic is part of the Din and according to the ulema an obligation for those who have the ability and possibility to learn it.

Arabic allows you to benefit from the word of Allah and His messenger in a way that you can never experience through a simple translation. Every person who is serious about the knowledge of Din should strive to learn the Arabic language.

In this diploma you will learn, in addition to reading and writing Arabic correctly, Nahw (syntax) and Sarf (morphology), the two main subjects of Arabic grammar.

The main objective of this diploma is to train teachers to teach the Arabic Language in Islamic schools and academies, in order to achieve the objectives of the Spanish Islamic Educational System established by Al-Andalusia, at the levels of Islamic Infant, Primary and Secondary Education.

Through this course we want to reinstill the importance of this element and recover the interest in Islamic art, so closely linked to our history and Andalusian legacy.

In the course, you will learn the basic concepts of Arabic calligraphy and geometry developed by Andalusian artists.

The main objective of this diploma is to train teachers to teach Islamic Art in Islamic schools and academies, in order to achieve the objectives of the Spanish Islamic Educational System established by Al-Andalusia, at the levels of Islamic Infant, Primary and Secondary Education.
