THE TREATISE OF THOSE WHO SEEK THE GOOD WAY" and "THE BEGINNING OF THOSE WHO RETURN TO ALLÂH are two small works written by Imam Almuhasibi, one of the great spiritual masters in the history of Islam. In "The treatise of those who seek the good path", Almuhasibi teaches us the path to be taken by those believers who aspire to virtue in the practice of din in order to attain excellence and the pleasure of their Lord. And in "The beginning of one who returns to Allâh", our imam unravels, like few others, the enormous and tiring struggle (mujahadah) that the believer must undertake to direct his soul (nafs) to the path of righteousness and happiness. These two writings, undoubtedly, represent those treatises that, given their content and worldview, emerge as a fresh and pure spring to which the spirit turns to satisfy its needs. Consequently, their reading is recommended at all times, as they always have something to contribute and invite us to memory, reflection and introspection.
