The Islamic University of Spain Al-Andalusia wishes to highlight the participation of our student Samara Hernandez in the talk-colloquium "Keys to understanding Ramadan: an insider's look".organized by the Association of Arab and African Immigrant Women of Huesca.

The meeting, held at the Huesca Civic Center, brought together neighbors interested in understanding the deep meaning of Ramadan from an internal and contextualized perspective, generating a space for open, respectful and enriching dialogue.

Knowledge that transcends the classroom

The initiative aimed to explain Ramadan beyond fasting, approaching it as a time of spiritual reflection, personal responsibility, solidarity and community strengthening. It was also emphasized that Islam is based on universal values such as empathy, justice, responsibility and peaceful coexistence.

The organizing Association stressed the importance of creating spaces that contribute to dismantle prejudices and counteract discourses built on ignorance, betting on knowledge as a tool to promote coexistence in a plural society.

In this context, the participation of our student represents a significant example of how academic training in Islamic Sciences can be projected in the social sphere, transforming theoretical learning into real dialogue and citizen engagement.

University and social responsibility

The Islamic University of Spain Al-Andalusia conceives its educational work as an integral process that is not limited to the academic field, but promotes the active and responsible presence of its students in society.

We celebrate and appreciate the commitment of our student, as well as the work of the Association of Arab and African Immigrant Women of Huesca, for promoting initiatives that strengthen mutual understanding, respect and intercultural coexistence.

These types of actions reflect how knowledge, when shared responsibly and openly, contributes concretely to the common good.
